TV Appearances
With live TV, guest appearances and his own series under his belt, it’s no wonder Mark's a familiar face on screen.
With a passion for local food, Marks own eight-part series “Baumann goes to Market” saw him buying and preparing then and there. “It was great to speak with these producers about their work,” explains Mark. They’re really committed to high quality produce and with a bit of Baumann magic we rustled up a gourmet meal in the market and shared it with the farmers and the shoppers!”
Live TV came knocking next and Mark became a frequent host on UKTV’s “Good Food Live”. “And it’s fly by the seat of your pants stuff!” he adds. “There’s no chance of a re-take and sometimes it can be really hard to keep an audience interested when your de-boning a chicken!”
Mark is now a regular expert radio guest on BBC Essex and often features on many of the mainstream cooking programmes. Most recently the hairy bikers visited Baumanns Brasserie for one of their regional cooking challenges. Home cooking guru Rachel Allen filmed Mark cooking at home with his family for her latest series and Mark was invited to join Gordon Ramsay as a food critic in the final of his series, “The F Word”.

Making News
Marks skills, achievements and innovative ideas are always in the news. Developing an asparagus flavour ice cream using locally sourced ingredients is typical Baumann – celebrating fresh produce but in a fun way.
Then in 2003 Mark really raised the bar. He was elected as a Master Chef of Great Britian – the trades way of celebrating outstanding achievement. In the same year he was also named in the first ever “International Who’s Who Chefs” which features less than 3000 proffessional chefs from more than 70 countries. He's listed alongside Michel Roux, Raymond Blanc and Jamie Oliver.
But although he appears in a serious book, his own writing is all about fun. Marks first cookbook, “Posh Food for the Common Man” was published in 2007 and is unashamedly aimed at 21st Century blokes with recipes such as gold coated Cornflakes and vodka ice lollies. “Who doesn’t want to enjoy cooking as well as the eating?” he explains.
Live Appearances and Demonstrations
“Sparks really fly when your demonstrating live,” says Mark, “as it's so great to feel the audience and play with their reactions!” No wonder then that Mark is a highly sought after performer at shows and exhibitions.
Nationally his credits include the Ideal Home Exhibition where hes appeared in front of huge London audiences alongside Ed Baynes, Ainsley Harriot, Aldo Zilli and great friend Jean-Christophe Novelli. He's also appeared at The France Show in London and the Grand Designs Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
Marks expertise in front of an audience has also been spotted by international kitchen companies and this work has included opening stores for Porcelanosa amongst others.
Locally he is a regular face at farmers market demonstrations and sharing his fun and passion for food with Essex schoolchildren.
